You’ll receive exclusive, hands-on, face-to-face training led by our top technical experts from the Netherlands.

Join One of Our Core Platforms

To begin your journey, you'll be hired onto one of our key platforms and start your employment one week prior to the Bootcamp – this will give us plenty of time to offer you all the equipment needed and access to all platforms.

Based on your skill, you will be chosen by one of our teams from one of the following platforms:

• Customer Technology Platform (CTP): Build the customer-facing technology solutions for our Albert Heijn’s brand;
• Stores & Supply Chain Platform (STP): Drive the digital transformation of Albert Heijn’s brand by modernizing the technology behind its stores and supply chain;
• Retail Business Platform (RBP): Develop the foundational platforms and systems that enable a seamless omnichannel experience for customers and a more efficient workplace for our employees for Albert Heijn.

Your new role and environment

As a backend developer at AD/01, you contribute to the improvement and optimization of the online experience of millions of customers. Using the latest technology, you transform the ever-changing insights in the world of online shopping into code that works. In short, you use your programming skills to develop, test and implement new functionalities, together with your team.

You will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable and reliable backend services using Kotlin and modern backend technologies .

Key responsibilities of your role

• Develop, maintain, and evolve high-quality, scalable microservices using Kotlin/Spring Boot and PostgreSQL.
• Ensure the availability, reliability, and high performance of critical, client-facing services
• Manage the shopping experience in our stores, website and app.
• Develop and improve new features for millions of customers.
• Improve and develop services to make the shopping experience easy and fun for our customers.
• Take responsibility (with the team) on the DevSecOps development cycle including standby
• Collaborate effectively with the Product Owner and other engineers to translate business needs into clear, scalable, and well-documented feature implementations.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with Java development
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate
• Strong understanding of CI/CD practices in an Azure Cloud environment.
• A big plus if you also have experience with Kafka, Grafana, Postgres, and APIs
• A getting-things-done mentality
• An insatiable appetite for new knowledge
