Frontend Developer

Your new role and environment.

Working as a Frontend developer (React/Typescript) for AH technology means you help us build state-of-the-art applications for our Finance department. We are currently in the midst of a transformation where all processes and systems are moving towards newer technologies. We are looking for a frontend developer with an entrepreneurial mindset who can drive this change with us!

As a Frontend developer, you become part of the development Finance P2P team that is responsible for the maintenance and operations of multiple systems. The team has great ambitions to move from a more older tech stack (Oracle 12 Forms) to a more state-of-the-art software product. You can be a driving force in implementing this change.

The finance teams work in close cooperation with both the Albert Heijn finance department and external parties that perform administrative operations on behalf of Albert Heijn. The P2P team is responsible for the Purchase-to-Pay processes, basically everything that needs to happen to do correct bookkeeping related to purchasing something from a supplier and registering that in the general ledger. The team consists of backend developers with a strong background in the legacy systems (Oracle PLSQL and Forms/Reports) but also of developers specialized in services and messaging.

Key responsibilities of your role.

As a Frontend developer you bring state-of-the-art knowledge about building UIs but you will also be responsible with the other developers to maintain the existing (legacy) systems. You have a broad interest in technology and do not mind doing deep-dives to understand complex systems. Our applications are used by our employees daily and it is critical that the transition runs as smooth as possible.

Requirements.

We think you’ll be best geared for success if you can meet the following requirements:
•    4+ years of experience with React and/or related technologies. •    Experience with working on frontend services of a system (so not a website). 
•    Entrepreneurial mindset where you don’t mind that processes aren’t set in stone. 
•    Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, creating deployment scripts (GitHub Actions, GitLab, etc…).

•    Experience with Azure, or any other cloud provider (nice to have)
•    Experience in the field of Retail Tech (nice to have)
