Your new role and environment

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Solution Consultant to join our IT Core Retail Platform team which provides services to the BeCSE region (Belgium, Central and Southern Europe). As a Transportation Solution Consultant, you will be responsible for providing expert advice, analyzing customer needs, and designing transportation solutions to meet their objectives.

As IT Solution Consultant, you’ll be joining our Transportation & Workforce Management department.

Key responsibilities of your role

  • Solution Design:
    • Develop customized transportation solutions tailored to meet the specific needs and objectives of the client.
    • Utilize industry best practices, innovative technologies, and transportation management systems (TMS) to design efficient and cost-effective solutions.
    • Design transportation routes, schedules, and modes of transport optimized for reliability, cost savings, and sustainability.
  • Implementation Support:
    • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, operations, and technology, to ensure successful implementation of the proposed transportation solutions.
    • Provide guidance and support during the implementation phase, addressing any issues or challenges that may arise.
    • Conduct training sessions for client personnel to ensure they are proficient in using the new transportation systems and processes.
  • Customer Consultation:
    • Collaborate with customers to understand their transportation challenges, goals, and requirements.
    • Conduct interviews, surveys, and workshops to gather detailed information about the client's current transportation operations.
  • Analysis and Assessment:
    • Perform thorough analysis of client transportation operations, including but not limited to freight management, routing, scheduling, and cost structures.
    • Analyze data related to transportation performance, such as on-time delivery rates, transit times, carrier performance, and cost per mile.
    • Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement within the client's transportation network.
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
    • Monitor the performance of implemented transportation solutions, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
    • Analyze data on an ongoing basis to identify opportunities for further optimization and improvement.
    • Work closely with customers to address any issues or concerns, making adjustments to the transportation solutions as needed to optimize performance.

We think you’ll be best geared for success if you can meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in transportation management, logistics, or consulting roles.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop actionable insights.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering transportation solutions to customers, meeting project deadlines and objectives.
  • Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), route optimization software, and other relevant technologies.
  • Previous experience in Retail Sector and especially in Food Retail Sector is considered of high importance.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites when needed.
  • Excellent knowledge of English language
